Over the past year, Oracle has been busy expanding and enhancing our product portfolio and our Microsoft partnership to further help our customers protect their data and operate their workloads in multicloud. Consider the following highlights of recent announcements and news.

  • Continued innovation with Oracle Database@Azure: Since the announcement of Oracle Database@Azure last year, further expansions have been made in our partnership with Microsoft, including its arrival in EMEA. This offering delivers Oracle database services running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) inside Azure data centers and gives customers more flexibility in where they run their workloads. Customers can seamlessly migrate and run their mission-critical Oracle Database workloads on Azure, where they can access the rich set of technology needed to accelerate innovation and compete more effectively, while also simplifying management and reducing costs. Oracle database services in Azure are designed to offer high levels of performance, scale, security, and availability.

Customers can run cloud native applications with direct access to data in Oracle Database@Azure with the same security and compliance controls across the entire solution. So, they can deploy a layered security strategy using built-in cloud identity and access management (IAM) and data security services with the ability to seamlessly integrate with Azure.

  • Major Global Businesses Adopt Oracle Database@Azure Worldwide: Global businesses across every vertical industry including Conduent, Vodafone, and Voya Financial are adopting Oracle Database@Azure to accelerate their cloud migrations. Oracle Database@Azure delivers all the performance, scale, and availability advantages of Oracle Database on OCI with the comprehensive application and developer services of Microsoft Azure. It's now available in three regions worldwide, including Azure UK South, Germany West Central, and East US. To meet growing demand, Microsoft and Oracle plan to make it available in another 12 regions globally by the end of 2024.
  • Oracle Database@Azure is Gold Maximum Availability Architecture endorsed: Oracle Database@Azure allows organizations to run Oracle databases natively in Microsoft Azure with high levels of performance, availability, security, and cost effectiveness. Customers expect high levels of data protection and resiliency from Oracle Database, and Oracle Database@Azure is no exception. New solutions and certifications for achieving disaster recovery and high availability on Oracle Database@Azure are now available. Options include the Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) Silver and Gold levels, the data replication service Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Zero Downtime Migration, and a new reference architecture to help you easily achieve Oracle and Microsoft best practices. Customers can also hone their skills with a new Oracle Database@Azure specialist training from Oracle University.
