Congressman Cohen Congratulates Vladimir Kara-Murza on Winning the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary

WASHINGTON - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly's Special Representative on Political Prisoners, today congratulated Washington Post columnist and Russian dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza for winning the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I congratulate my courageous friend Vladimir on winning American journalism's highest honor. Vladimir continues to speak truth about Putin, his oligarchs, and the unjust war in Ukraine from behind the bars of his prison cell. It is my profound hope that this prize in some tangible way protects him from harm and I call again for his immediate release from prison and return to his family in Virginia. This is a very welcome development and is richly deserved."
