Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Names New Chief Clinical Transformation Officer and Chief Financial Officer

CHICAGO, IL (October 19, 2021) - The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) has announced Dr. Adam Myers as its new senior vice president and chief clinical transformation officer, effective Sept. 30, and Christina Fisher as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer, beginning Nov. 1. These announcements mark six BCBSA executive officer appointments since President and CEO Kim Keck took the helm in January of this year.

"The addition of their diverse experience and expertise to our executive team will be invaluable as we work to build a new model of affordable, equitable care for the 111 million Americans covered by the Blue System."

Myers is responsible for setting the clinical priorities of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) System by collaborating with the chief medical officers across the 35 BCBS companies and leading the Office of Clinical Affairs and the BCBS Institute. A longtime advocate for community health and health equity, Myers helps set the vision for the Blues' efforts to create a more equitable health care system.

Prior to joining BCBSA, Myers served as the Cleveland Clinic's chief of population health and director of the Cleveland Clinic Community Care program. There, he led the clinic's care model redesign strategy, the community and public health strategy and the Diversity Inclusion and Racial Equity Council.

Christina Fisher will oversee BCBSA's finance, information technology, application development and information security teams, as well as the National Employee Benefits Administration, which manages retirement plan assets for participating BCBS companies, and the Blue Venture Fund, a corporate venture fund program where BCBS companies invest in promising emerging companies.

Fisher previously served as chief financial officer for the American Hospital Association, leading strategic alignment and operational transformation of finance, information technology, meeting and travel services, and facilities management. Previously, she had wide-ranging experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and with several financial and technology consultancies.

Myers and Fisher are the latest of several new executive officers within the Association since Keck's appointment in January 2021:

• Sean Robbins was appointed executive vice president, external affairs, overseeing efforts to position BCBS companies with key stakeholders and drive policy and advocacy efforts.
• Keysha Brooks-Coley was appointed vice president, advocacy, leading federal and state relations, political, field and third-party advocacy.
• Anshu Choudhri was promoted to vice president, policy development and strategy, leading efforts to shape BCBS companies' positions on key business issues.
• Katie McBreen was appointed vice president, communications, overseeing integrated communications across public affairs and strategic communications.
