Nurse Spotlight: Tim Wrede, Sunrise of East Setauket, NY

Every May, we are proud to honor our Sunrise nurses for the warm, person-centered care they provide for our beloved residents. This year, National Nurses Week in the U.S. falls on May 6-12, National Nursing Week in Canada is May 10-16, and the American Nurses Association is recognizing the entire month of May as Nurses Month.

As a way to celebrate, we are honoring all of our outstanding Sunrise nurses and the care they provide to our residents each day. One of these extraordinary nurses, Tim Wrede, was nominated by his executive director, Michael Christian, to receive a spotlight highlighting his leadership nurses and commitment to provide the best quality of care to his residents.

Timothy 'Tim' Wrede, BSN, RN has served as the Resident Care Director at Sunrise of East Setauket, NY, since July 2020. Not only does he have strong clinical skills and excellent bedside manner with residents, he also is a natural leader. Tim is well-respected by his peers, and it shows in the professionalism and leadership exhibited by the community's nursing team each and every day.

Tim is committed to the East Setauket community and the organization as whole. Despite the many unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tim remained positive and motivated throughout, which has enabled him to make a significant impact on the lives of each person who comes into contact with the community. He has invested a lot of his time to making sure East Setauket remains a place for residents and team members to thrive.

In addition to Tim's nursing background, he has also served the Long Island community as a firefighter for many years and is also a licensed pilot!
