The American Express™ Continues Commitment to Drive Positive Impact in the Coachella Valley, Calif.

Since 2020, American Express and The Mickelson Foundation Have Contributed $2.1 Million to Local Community Organizations

As the title sponsor of The American Express™ golf tournament, American Express is affirming its continued commitment to making a positive impact within the local community. 2022 is the third year of the company's title sponsorship of the PGA Tour event, being held January 20-23 in La Quinta, Calif.

"Giving back to the community while celebrating the passions of our customers is at the center of what we do at American Express," said Stephen J. Squeri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Express. "We've seen the positive impact this tournament has on golf fans and the local community in the Coachella Valley. We're honored to continue this legacy by extending our role as title sponsor and growing the total charitable funds raised to support so many outstanding local organizations focused on helping small businesses, the health and wellness of the community, youth sports, education and more."

Since 2020, American Express has worked alongside The Mickelson Foundation to donate $2.1 million. Some of the Coachella Valley-based charities that have received funding to-date include First Tee Coachella Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, among others.

Teal Guion, Executive Director of First Tee Coachella Valley, has said, "Funding from The American Express™ and the Mickelson Foundation makes it possible for First Tee Coachella Valley to be able to impact all of the young people out here in the Coachella Valley through our life skills programs, through our programs in school, and through our programs after school."

"The partnership between the Mickelson Foundation and The American Express™ is imperative to us in this community. And because they do what they do for us and it stays right here locally in the Coachella Valley, we're able to have a deeper impact. Without their help we couldn't do what we do for thousands of kids here in the Coachella Valley", said Quinton Egson, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley.

Looking ahead, American Express announced plans to extend sponsorship of The American Express™ through 2028, helping the PGA Tour continue its 62 years of positive impact in the Coachella Valley.
