Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad visited Paya Lebar Air Base to observe a readiness exercise conducted by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) this morning. Hosted by Commander Air Power Generation Command (APGC), Brigadier-General Amos Yeo, Mr Zaqy was briefed on the roles and operational capabilities of APGC, and observed how the RSAF uses technology to remain robust and resilient in generating air power for the Singapore Armed Forces from peace to war. During the visit, Mr Zaqy also interacted with RSAF personnel, and thanked them for their dedication and commitment to safeguarding Singapore's skies.

Speaking at the end of his visit, Mr Zaqy highlighted how the use of technology will enable the RSAF to be more agile, resilient and efficient in generating air power, and expressed confidence in the readiness of the RSAF. He said, "We witnessed first-hand how the RSAF's NSmen, NSFs and Regulars work together to maintain air base operations and generate air power for the SAF. The RSAF leverages robotics, data analytics and artificial intelligence in order to be more resilient and efficient in their operations. These are testament to the agile and innovative approach the RSAF adopts. I am heartened to see the commitment of the men and women of the RSAF to the defence of Singapore. They displayed a high level of professionalism and teamwork. I am confident in their operational readiness and capabilities to be able to defend Singapore's sovereignty and security when they are called upon."

Air Power Generation Command is one of the RSAF's six Commands. APGC is responsible for generating and sustaining effective, timely and robust air power to achieve the SAF's mission. It oversees the aircraft generation and air base operability elements within each RSAF air base to ensure the successful launch and recovery of aircraft.
