Two males arrested stemming from a traffic stop in Plattsburgh

On May 2, 2024, New York State Police charged Jason C. Walton, age 43, of Bronx, New York, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree (A-I Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (D Felony) after a traffic stop was conducted by New York State Troopers on US Route 9 in Plattsburgh. During the traffic stop, Walton was found to be possession of approximately half a kilogram of crack-cocaine and a quantity of amphetamine. Additionally, a passenger of the vehicle, Paul J. Drake, age 44, of Willsboro, New York, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree for possession of approximately 5 grams of crack-cocaine.

Walton was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and remanded without bail to the Clinton County Jail.

The New York State Police was assisted in this investigation by the Adirondack Narcotics Enforcement Unit comprised of members of the Plattsburgh City PD, Clinton County Sheriff's Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the New York State Police.
