Volusia County is set to open Sun & Surf Park to the public on Friday, May 10. Located at 726 N. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach, the new park offers 70 parking spaces, including five ADA parking spaces. It also features an ADA-accessible beach ramp, enhancing beach access for both residents and visitors. The park also includes showers, bike racks, a 15-foot-wide beachfront boardwalk, and new landscaping. This project was funded in part by Volusia ECHO.

"By increasing accessibility to the beach, we're not just opening up more parking spots; we're offering more opportunities for families, friends, and visitors to create memories in the sun and sand," said Coastal Division Director Jessica Fentress. "We're thrilled to enhance the beach-going experience for our community and visitors alike."

The park is named after the Sun & Surf Motel that was purchased by the County in 2015. The County will soon announce an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the park's opening. Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the Volusia Beaches app for additional information on off-beach parking, ramps, and walkovers.
