Segment of Ryan Road to be Closed Overnight May 6-10, 2024

A segment of Ryan Road, between Evergreen Mills Road and Northstar Boulevard, is scheduled to be closed nightly to through traffic from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m., beginning Monday, May 6, until Friday, May 10, 2024, to accommodate necessary construction. During the closure period, all through traffic along Ryan Road will be required to detour around the construction area via Evergreen Mills Road, Creighton Road and Northstar Boulevard (PDF).

The temporary nightly closures of the Ryan Road segment were approved by the Virginia Department of Transportation due to an unexpected need to excavate a trench across the roadway to install water infrastructure for Loudoun County Public Schools' new Watson Mountain Middle School, which is currently under construction. The work area is located on Ryan Road, just east of Evergreen Mills Road. In accordance with Loudoun County's noise ordinance, construction will occur throughout the overnight hours to expedite the completion of work and minimize the impact of the temporary nightly closures of Ryan Road.

Ryan Road is expected to reopen to traffic by 5:00 a.m. Friday, May 10. If the work is completed sooner, the county will announce the reopening for the community's awareness.
