MURDER INVESTIGATION – 800 BLOCK OF ATLANTIC AVENUE

Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a male adult that occurredon May 8, 2024, in the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue.

At approximately, 12:11 a.m.,officers responded to the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue regarding a shotscall. Upon arrival, officers locateda male adult victim with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Officers immediately renderedmedical aid to the victim. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and determined the victim deceased.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. The motive for the shooting and circumstances of the incident are still under investigation

The victim has been identified as Tyrone Parks a 28-year-old resident of Long Beach.
