Oracle Corporation opens regional centre in State Data Centre in Kragujevac

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended in Kragujevac today the signing of a commercial agreement with Oracle Corporation, which will enable this global IT giant to open the first regional centre in Southeast Europe in the Data Centre in Kragujevac.

By opening a regional hub of this corporation, conditions are being created for this corporation to offer its services from Kragujevac to this part of Europe and wider.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Minister-Counsellor of the US Embassy to Serbia John Ginkel, Director of the Serbian government's Office for Information Technologies and E-Government Mihailo Jovanovic and Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic.

On behalf of Oracle Corporation, the agreement was signed by Vice President for Cloud Technology and Regional Managing Director for North and Central Eastern Europe Kenneth Johansen and on behalf of the State Data Centre in Kragujevac by Director of Data Cloud Technology Danilo Savic.

By signing this agreement, a new perspective is being created in the development of the information and communication technology sector in Serbia, and at the same time our country is positioning itself as a regional IT leader.

The partnership with Oracle Corporation, one of the world's IT leaders, is another confirmation of the government's results in the sector of digitalisation and investment in the most modern infrastructure of data centres, human resources and technical capacity.

This is also a confirmation that Serbia is a regional leader in digital transformation and a good partner for foreign investments in the field of IT and new technologies, the Office for Information Technologies and E-Government said in a statement.
