Meadow Lake RCMP investigating fatal collision

On August 14, 2022 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway #4, south of Meadow Lake. Investigation determined an SUV and a semi collided. The driver of the semi was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The driver of the SUV, a 21-year-old male from Big Island Lake Cree Nation, was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. The male had been reported missing to Pierceland RCMP earlier that evening and was the subject of a previous missing person media release. His family has been notified of his death.
