SCDOT closes Mayo Road bridge in Spartanburg County for emergency repairs

​Columbia, S.C.(April 17, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation has closed the Mayo Road bridge over Island Creek in Spartanburg County for emergency repairs.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured utilizing Old School Road, Chesnee Highway (US 221), I-85, and Battleground Road. Mayo Road will be open to local traffic only during the closure of the bridge. The closure is expected to last approximately a month.

SCDOT appreciates the public's patience as we work to make repairs to this bridge. Remember to slow down and pay attention when driving through a work zone.
