PRCI WEBINAR: Impact of Composite Sample Mixing Methodology and Centrifugal Forces on Density Determination and S&W Results

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 | 11:00 AM EDT

Join the PRCI Measurement Technical Committee as they present research data to provide a better understanding of how composite sample mixing methodology and centrifugal forces impact density determination and S&W results. This research provides a foundation for improved measurement along with industry standardization.

Presenter: Rubia Mariath, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
Host: Allen Wong, Enbridge
Moderator: Angie Mallahan, PRCI

Learning Outcomes/Benefits from Attending this Webinar:

• Karl Fischer will find more water than the centrifuge method, as it considers the total water in the sample and not just free water as in the centrifuge method.

• Higher centrifuge forces did not reduce rag layer formation, and the centrifuge method can understate S&W content because of it

• Centrifuge method for the field test has space for improvement and optimization
