Caylin Frank Appointed to City Council

Caylin Frank was appointed by the Poway City Council to fill the council seat vacated by the retirement of former Councilmember Jim Cunningham. Frank's appointment is through the November 2018 election, at which time a successor will be elected to serve through the remainder of Cunningham's at-large term in 2020.
Councilmember Frank, 32, is a fourth generation San Diego County resident who moved to Poway with her husband and young daughter because of its reputation as a safe city that is well-run and offers top-notch community services and amenities.
'I'm excited to bring fresh perspectives to the council, the perspective from south Poway, a young family's perspective, and yes, perspective from a woman,' Frank said in her remarks at the special council meeting on June 18. 'Meaning no disrespect to you and the work you've done, such perspectives couldn't help but add to council deliberations and decision making. And Poway would be better for it.'
Councilmember Frank holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of San Diego and has extensive experience at various levels of government. She interned with the US House of Representatives and is currently Senior Policy Advisor for County Supervisor Bill Horn.
She was sworn in on June 20 and her first council meeting as a member of the City Council is July 17.
