Effective immediately, the City of Fort Lauderdale is lifting the precautionary advisory for water-related recreational activities in the Seminole River Canal and a portion of the Intracoastal Waterway within the following boundaries:
The precautionary advisory was issued on Friday, July 22, 2022, as a result of a sewer overflow. Water sampling in the affected area has demonstrated that the waterway meets the State's surface water quality standards. Swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and other water-related recreational activities can be resumed.
