"President Morris has a wealth of experience, demonstrated leadership, and an unmatched commitment and devotion to Christian higher education," said Thomas G. Miller, Board of Trustees chair. "He is a uniquely gifted man of God who will bring his Christ-centered vision and transformational mindset to APU at a critically important turning point in this university's history."

Morris began serving as president on July 1. In his first months in office, he has focused on building a President's Cabinet filled with experienced leaders with successful track records. Morris expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to lead APU into a new era.

"The call from God to join the APU community could not have been stronger, and I am both humbled and honored to assume this sacred position of leadership," Morris said. "The strength and vision of APU's faculty, staff, and students will lead the way as I look forward to how God will work in us and through us in the years to come."

An accomplished senior administrator, Morris is known for mobilizing staff around a compelling vision, with specific gifting in the area of strategic planning and transformation and a rich history of securing significant financial support to advance the mission of an organization. Entrepreneurial, innovative, collaborative, and discerning, Morris has more than 30 years of experience in Christian higher education. Morris served with distinction in leadership roles at Biola, joining the leadership team as vice president in 2007. Most recently, he served as the executive vice president, chief transformation office, and chief institutional advancement officer. He and his wife, Faith, live in La Habra Heights, Calif., and have four adult children, two in-law children, and four grandchildren.
