BPD Takes Survey on Flock Safety Cameras

Buda City Police Department Asks Buda Residents to Take Survey on Flock Safety Cameras

BUDA, TEXAS -The City of Buda Police Department (BPD) is applying for a $20,000 grant through the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority for the potential purchase or lease of Flock safety cameras. To gauge citizens' interests and concerns, the BPD is making a brief, online survey available.

Installation of these cameras in various areas around the city would be used for taking digital images of the rear of vehicles as an investigative tool to help deter and solve crimes. Although the technology already is being used by a local homeowner association in its subdivision, the BPD seeks residents' input prior to making a decision and to share with City Council. BPD requests Buda citizens to please take the safety camera survey by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022. Residents' participation in this important survey, available at the following link, is appreciated: https://cityofbuda.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6EI3pTLNjqzPVrw

The City of Buda is home to about 18,000 residents and has earned designations as a "Texas Main Street City," "Tree City USA," "Bee City Affiliate" and "Platinum Level Scenic City." Buda is situated along the Interstate 35 corridor, has 14 parks and a historic downtown district where residents and visitors alike can shop, dine, relax, and breathe easy here.
