Published on April 29, 2024

Denver - Monday, April 29, 2024 - Today, the Denver Police Department (DPD) announces their "Dress for Success" women's professional attire clothing drive and clothes giveaway. Starting Monday, April 29th through May 10th, residents are encouraged to drop off new or gently used women's clothing, business attire, shoes and accessories at any DPD district station. The goal of the event is to provide women with free professional attire they can wear to job interviews or to work.

The items collected will be organized and prepared for distribution. Clothing and accessories drop off locations are:

  • District 1 - 1311 West 46th Avenue
  • District 2 - 3921 North Holly Street
  • District 3 - 1625 South University Boulevard
  • District 4 - 2100 South Clay Street
  • District 5 - 12025 East 45th Avenue
  • District 6 - 1566 North Washington Street

On May 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., members of the community can attend this boutique-style shopping experience at the Denver Police District Two Station at 3921 Holly Street. Attendees will have the chance to look through the clothing and take items of their choosing at no cost.

"Coming together as a community to provide nice professional clothing and accessories has a very positive effect on those wearing the donated articles of clothing," said Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas. "As the saying goes - 'when you look good - you feel good' and feeling good about oneself allows for greater opportunities and better outcomes."

The Denver Police Department hosted a Dress for Success men's edition in mid-April, where hundreds of items were collected and given away to more than 80 participants. To see the magnitude of the community's generosity for the men's edition, please visit the link.

DPD extends its gratitude to the Denver Dream Center and the Columbine Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star PHA and Queen of the South Number One for their partnership in this community building event.
