Cooperation between EOII and ASM Uzbekistan will be further developed

The meeting discussed issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of the agro-industrial complex.

The EEC Minister outlined a number of priorities for the development of the CAE of the Eurasian Economic Union, which can be useful for a deeper study by Uzbekistan. In particular, the EOII proposed to cooperate in shaping common principles and approaches to food security, creating a platform for the rapid exchange of information on the needs or opportunities associated with the supply of agricultural products in addition to the Allies markets, ensuring the free movement of organic agricultural products.

Among the priorities are also the creation of mechanisms for academic mobility in the agro-industrial complex, the development of a map of the agro-industrial development of the Union, the interconnection of the national systems of commodity production of the allied countries, including the formation of Eurasian wholesale and logistics complexes. ...

Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodjaev noted the advantages of deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with the EOII countries in the field of the agro-industrial complex, focusing on projects to create mechanisms for the development of academic mobility and national systems of commodity exchange of the participating countries.

'As part of the convergence of national legislation with the norms of integrated integration, we must conduct a comparative analysis of regulations in the field of agriculture,' J. Khojaev said. - We have set ourselves the task of further improving the national policy in the field of agriculture. veterinary and phytosanitary control. In this regard, we must work together to harmonize technical standards and modernize infrastructure. To this end, we can create a platform for the integration of the veterinary and quarantine services of Uzbekistan with the inspection bodies of the VZII countries in the same areas in order to discuss in detail the current issues on the agenda, consider existing problems and proposals. to regulate them.

According to the EIC minister, the task is to integrate the system for the transfer of national products into a single network. In this regard, Artak Kamalyan said that the only EOII product distribution network should focus on strengthening mutual and foreign trade of the Union, optimizing transport flows, reducing logistics and general costs associated with production and sales, and, ultimately, providing consumers quality new products. put forward an idea.

'We are glad to consider and jointly develop proposals of state bodies with the participation of the business community of your country in cooperation with the countries of the Union,' Artak Kamalyan said. The development of trade and the creation of joint projects with Uzbekistan are of particular interest to EOII.

It was noted that the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and the EOII countries is high, and in 2020, the export of agricultural raw materials and food products from the EOII countries to Uzbekistan amounted to $ 1.7 billion. Compared to 2019, it increased by 38.2%. Imports from Uzbekistan to the EAEU countries increased by 12.3% to $ 656.4 million.

In addition, the bulk of agricultural products in Uzbekistan are grown by farms. In this regard, there is potential for strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Union and Uzbekistan and increasing the efficiency of the logistics infrastructure.

Last year, EOII gross agricultural output increased by 2.3% compared to 2019. Production growth was observed in all countries of the Union.
