State Police investigate fatal crash on I-87 in the town of Catsk...

Catskill, NY - On April 19, 2024, at approximately 6:41 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a one car rollover crash on I-87 northbound, in the town of Catskill, Greene County.

The crash occurred in the area of mile marker 108.9, between exit 20 (Saugerties) and exit 21 (Catskill). A preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2004 Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the passing lane when, for an unknown reason, it exited the roadway, went through the guiderail, struck an earth embankment, and overturned.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Regina Levine, 66, of Amsterdam, NY, was transported to Albany Medical Center in critical condition and later succumbed to her injuries on April 22, 2024.

The crash remains under investigation.
