Across the company, employees are taking to the streets, the mountains and the beaches this month as part of Applied Materials' annual EarthWorks campaign to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and inspire action! From Austin to Alzenau, employees are getting educated about key issues, volunteering their time and giving to nonprofit organizations-all to make their communities healthier, cleaner and more sustainable.

In Silicon Valley and Germany, teams are learning safe and effective ways to bike to work in commute workshops. While in Japan, employees and their families are filling bags of discarded litter on Mount Fuji. Over in Malta, New York, crews are exploring nature through team hikes and planting native flowers. And in Israel, employees are hitting the seashore for group yoga classes and beach cleanup events.

No matter your location, you don't have to venture far to make an impact. "Bring your mug to work day"-and avoiding paper cups-is catching on in our offices around the globe. In India, we've got engineers designing and constructing tote bags out of recycled newspaper. And, in the heart of BBQ-loving Texas, we are defying convention and offering veggie lunch options to employees looking to decrease their carbon footprint.

Join us as stewards of the planet this Earth Day, April 22nd and every day, by learning about and taking action on sustainable causes that matter to you. Eat differently. Recycle intentionally. Volunteer enthusiastically. Live sustainably!
