The decider was one of the most exciting matches. It was stretched till the black ball and that could've been anybody's match. They both spent quality time from last blue onwards and had multiple chances to pot the required colours to qualify for knockout. They both were under tremendous pressure and missed multiple chances to close the proceeding. Finally, Marc got a clear chance to pot pink and then black after few visits to win 3-2 and qualify for knockout stage.
In another match, Julien Leclercq of Belgium defeated Syrian boy Yazan Alhadad and qualified for the knockouts. They both required to win this match for qualification and Julien made it through by winning the match 3-1.
However, he went through some tough moments also including frame 2 where despite of his 62 points break, he lost when Yazan made counter break of 72. That was the alarming situation for Julien and in next two frames, he fielded properly and scored 70-42; 66-11 to outclass Yazan.
