ISA AND THREE OF ITS AFFILIATES RECEIVE THE EQUIPARES SEAL: THEIR LEVELS OF FEMALE PARTICIPATION ARE HIGHER THAN THE AVERAGE FOR THE ENERGY MINING SECTOR

  • ISA, ISA INTERCOLOMBIA, ISA TRANSELCA and XM were awarded the Silver Seal.
  • The average female participation rate of the four companies is 32,7%, while the average for the sector is 29%. This is an outstanding figure in a highly male-dominated sector.

ISA and its subsidiaries ISA INTERCOLOMBIA, ISA TRANSELCA and XM obtained the EQUIPARES Silver Seal for Labor Equality, for their firm commitment to the implementation of the Gender Equality Management System, granted by the Ministry of Labor and the United Nations Development Programme in Colombia (UNDP).

The company's results were particularly favorable as the average female participation of the four companies reached 32,7%, while the average for the energy mining sector is 29%, according to figures from the Colombian Association of Electric Power Generators (ACOLGEN). Also, the four companies are above the national average of female participation in hierarchical levels, which is 24%.

"We believe that differences make us unique, nurture teams and bring new perspectives to our businesses and the way we do things." Receiving the Equipares Seal inspires us to continue strengthening our diversity and inclusion program Otras Miradas (Other Insights), in order to be more competitive, innovative, and disruptive, concepts that are part of our ISA2030 Strategy," said Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, ISA's CEO.

During the certification process carried out by the Ministry of Labor and Icontec, solid processes were recognized in the eight dimensions evaluated: Talent selection and attraction; Professional development; Training; Compensation; Environment, health, and quality of life; Work-life balance; Workplace harassment and sexual harassment; and Communications.

In each of these dimensions, the four companies have solid and unbiased processes in place to contribute to the change of paradigms, learning to identify and understand all existing stereotypes and forms of discrimination.

All of the above are supported by the diversity and inclusion program Otras Miradas, through three management approaches aimed at protecting fundamental rights: gender, accessibility, and multiculturalism, in order to promote work environments based on respect and offer equal conditions for access to opportunities and workspaces. This Seal ratifies the commitment of ISA and its companies to contribute to diversity and inclusion in a highly masculinized sector, unlearning what has been learned and building from scratch the way of relating to others.
