As a respite for Tegucigalpa, CABEI collaborators contribute to the planting of 530 new trees

Tegucigalpa, July 23 2021.- The will to act in favor of the environment remains active among the collaborators of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), who exchanged a 'like' on an internal social network in exchange for the planting of a tree, adding 530 new ones in the United Nations Park in Cerro El Picacho in Tegucigalpa.

'In the midst of the teleworking that currently prevails in the Bank due to the pandemic, we launched an internal campaign called 'One tree for every like' with the objective of compensating the environmental footprint generated by the operation of our headquarters in Honduras and thus maintaining our active volunteer actions in favor of the environment, which we have been implementing for several years,' explained CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

CABEI's volunteer work, which began in 2010, has been characterized by actions in favor of the environment. In the region, CABEI has planted 17,230 trees in vulnerable areas affected by climate change and has contributed to the cleaning of beaches in Guatemala and Panama, as well as the release of more than 335 turtles in El Salvador.

'We also apply the idea of being the Green Bank of Central America from home,' concluded President Mossi, who explained that these actions are in line with CABEI's Environmental Sustainability Policy, in compliance with the Bank's 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy
