Students of Royal College of Defence Studies, on visit to the MoND
The delegation of the prestigious British defence studies college, made up of commissioned officers and civilian personnel from Europe, America, Middle East, Central Asia and the Indo-Pacific Region was headed by Rear Admiral Richard Anthony Murrison. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bucharest, Andrew Noble.
State Secretary Simona Cojocaru briefed the students on Romania's priorities in the defence policy field and on the main goals of the 2020-2024 National Defence Strategy, especially those concerning the importance of the Black Sea Region and the on-going projects developed within NATO and EU.
Another important topic approached during the meeting was the critical security situation from Ukraine and its implications for the Black Sea Region, with focus on the current developments from the Southern and Eastern Ukraine.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Defence Staff and the Services briefed the audience on common interest topics from their area of responsibility.
