Gilmer Street lane closure switch planned

KILLEEN, Texas (May 21, 2024) - The City of Killeen's Department of Public Works' Engineering Division will be switching the traffic direction flow on Gilmer Street, closing northbound traffic from Veterans Memorial Boulevard and 761^st Tank Battalion Avenue and allowing southbound traffic. This will begin Thursday, May 23.

Previously the southbound lane had been closed as crews completed the initial stage of the Gilmer Street reconstruction project.

The contractor will have a traffic control plan in place and will guide traffic around the work area. Motorists should anticipate delays and are asked to use caution and obey traffic control devices.
