CULVERT REPLACEMENT WORK ON 11 MILE RD, JUST EAST OF SOUTH HILL RD, EXPECTED TO START OCT. 4

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) plans to begin culvert replacement work on 11 Mile Road just east of South Hill Road in Lyon Township. Work is expected to begin on Oct. 4.

There is no road closure, however, the work will be done with flaggers directing traffic. The project is expected to be completed in early November.

The expected cost of $711,500 will be funded by the Road Commission for Oakland County.

This project includes:

  • Removal and replacement of two culverts under the road
  • Installation of new headwalls and wing walls
  • Installation of new guardrails
  • Replacement of road gravel over the culvert

The contractor for this project is Fonson Company Inc. of Brighton. This section of 11 Mile Road

carries approximately 140 vehicles daily.
