Before your busy summer begins, Boulder's Parks and Recreation Department (BPR) encourages community members to sign up for its new text notification service to receive information about unplanned operational changes. This is an enhancement to BPR's current notification process, which relies on X/Twitter.
To start receiving BPR's push notification texts related to unplanned operational changes, community members should text any of the below keywords to the number 888-777. The request only needs to be made once and community members may sign up for as many of the keywords/topics below that interest them.
The keywords are:
Text updates will only be sent about changes that impact the rest of that day's operations. For example, an update would be sent if nearby lightning requires Scott Carpenter Pool to close for the rest of the day, but not if a pool closes for an hour and then reopens.
"We are committed to keeping our community safe and informed when one of our facilities has to operate differently than scheduled," said Boulder Parks and Recreation Director Ali Rhodes. "This change will make sure folks get information as quickly as possible when at or planning to visit one of BPR's facilities."
Content will be cross posted to BPR's X/Twitterfor now, but this may change in the future. This service is free to the community except for any data usage charges that might apply. Community members may also unsubscribe from this service at any time.
