WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the Community Council of South Central Texas, Inc. will receive $1,311,302 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This grant will bolster Head Start and Early Head Start programs that many families rely on.

"I am grateful to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for awarding this grant to this deserving organization", stated Congressman Gonzalez. "With this funding, Community Council of South Central Texas will be equipped to continue their work serving families and providing quality education services for children."

The Community Council of South Central Texas serves low-income families and individuals in 31 counties in South Central and West Texas; these include the Counties of Guadalupe, Karnes, and Live Oak.
