pG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Update:
approximately 51 customers in vernalis will have their service impacted by PG&E's Public Safety Power SHutoff around 1 Pm today
Service to Customers in Tracy City Limits Still NOT Expected to be Impacted
Tracy, Calif. - In a recent news release, PG&E confirmed they began proactively turning off power for safety to nearly 800,000 customers early this morning in response to a widespread, severe weather event. Approximately 51 San Joaquin County Customers in the Vernalis area are expected to be impacted during the second phase - around 1 PM today. PG&E customers within the city limits of Tracy are still not expected to be impacted by this PSPS event.
To support the affected customers, a Community Resource Center has been opened at the Westley Hotel, located at 8615 CA-33 in Westley, California. Restrooms, bottled water, electronic device charging and air-conditioned seating for up to 100 people will be available there between 8 AM - 8 PM.
PG&E anticipates that this weather event will last through midday Thursday, with peak winds forecasted from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. PG&E notified the impacted customers in advance and will continue to provide them with updates via automated calls, texts and emails. Once the extreme weather subsides, which is expected to occur by noon on Thursday, the power infrastructure can be evaluated by PG&E and restoration of service to customers within the PSPS event will begin. Customers not impacted by the PSPS may still experience power outages without advance notification due to PG&E equipment being damaged during this major wind event.
How to stay informed and prepared:
PG&E customers should update their contact info with PG&E online or by calling 1-866-743-6589 during normal business hours to receive alerts directly from PG&E through automated calls, texts and emails, when and where possible, prior to a PSPS.

Program, which provides additional energy at the lowest price for customers and ensures the special medical needs of these customers are addressed during a PSPS.

Keep mobile devices and other electronics charged and gas tanks full.
Know how to manually open electric garage door openers and gates.
Identify backup charging methods for phones and keep hard copies of emergency numbers.
Build or restock your emergency kit with flashlights, fresh batteries, first aid supplies, water, non-perishable food and cash.
Use a thermometer in the refrigerator and freezer so you know the temperature when power is restored. Throw out the food if the temperature is 40 degrees or higher.
