This week host, Olivia Myers is joined by Finnish & Nordic Studies Senior, Seth Dahl. Dahl and Myers dive into what it's like to be in the Finnish & Nordic Studies program, the Paloheimo Fellows program, the opportunity it gives students and more.
The Paloheimo Fellows program allows a select group of students to study Finnish culture and society in Finland with Dr. Hilary-Joy Virtanen. With the support of the Paloheimo Foundation, most expenses for travel are covered.
'We have a very nominal amount of food and things we have to buy, there is a suggested amount of money we have to bring. It's a couple hundred dollars,' said Dahl 'For some people it'll be a little tight, for other people, I mean, they aren't even going to spend half of it. It really depends on what you want to do and what you want to experience when you are there.
'It's certainly not a vacation, it's a lot of work. So anybody who wants to apply to this really should take that into consideration. This is an academic endeavor, this isn't a holiday.'

Applications to the program will be accepted until November 22, 2019.
