Daily Summary for the 2024 Fiscal Session for Tuesday, April 16

On Tuesday, the House Rules Committee advanced nine resolutions to introduce non-appropriation bills during this Fiscal Session.

Eight of those resolutions address the operations of digital asset mining.

HR1013 would authorize the introduction of legislation outlining a temporary pay plan for state employees.

Resolutions to introduce non-appropriation legislation must pass with a 2/3 majority in the House and Senate before a bill can be introduced.

The full House passed several amendments to appropriation bills. Amendment 1 for HB1013 adds $8 million for overtime pay for correctional officers.

Amendment 1 for HB1014 adds $500,000 for transitional housing for the Department of Community Correction.

Amendment 1 for HB1041 adds $5 million for transportation modernization grants for the Department of Education.

The House will reconvene on Wednesday at 1 pm.
