Spirit Airlines Receives Corporate Partner of the Year Award From the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross
MIRAMAR, Fla., April 23, 2021 - Spirit Airlines (NYSE: SAVE) was named Corporate Partner of the Year by the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross during a virtual awards ceremony held on April 21. The organization gives the award to one corporate partner each year and chose to recognize Spirit's partnership and contributions for 2020.
Spirit helped the Red Cross continue to deliver on its lifesaving mission last year, which was as vital as ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline donated more than $100,000 raised by selling face coverings throughout its route network, with all proceeds going to the organization.
'We are so honored to accept this award and value our ongoing partnership with the American Red Cross,' said Lania Rittenhouse, Vice President of Guest Experience & Brand at Spirit Airlines. 'This was an extremely challenging year for everyone in our community. Spirit Airlines and the Spirit Airlines Charitable Foundation have worked tirelessly throughout the past year to make sure we are helping our Guests and giving back to our community however we can, especially when it comes to ensuring everyone's safety.'
Spirit also donated $20,000 to the American Red Cross to support people affected by Hurricane Laura and Nashville's tornado outbreak in early 2020.
