Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Metro 19 Apartment Complex

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 24 for the $80 million Metro 19 apartment developmen t adjacent to the Roselle Metra Station near Irving Park Road and Lawrence Avenue. This type of transit-oriented development was specifically recommended for the area in the Village's Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2016.

Phase 1 work, including construction of the parking garage, is underway. Delivery of concrete panels for the garage is expected next week with a specific date to be determined. Traffic may be disrupted at Irving Park Road and Lawrence Avenue as the panels are delivered. Personnel will be onsite to direct traffic as needed.

It is anticipated that leasing for the 297 units will begin in late-2023. According to the developer, units will be similar to those at the Metro 59 apartments in Aurora, which start at $1,855 for 1-bedroom and $2,435 for 2-bedrooms. Amenities at Metro 19 will include in-unit washer and dryer, outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor lounges, workspaces, indoor bike storage, a dog run and spa, and an outdoor grilling area.
