Eagles over Monroe: Northfork Birding Hike, Northfork Check Station (Monroe Lake)

Meeting Location: Northfork Check Station on Kent Road (directions will be provided); attendees will then caravan about 10 minutes to the hike's starting location.

Join David Rupp (IndiGo Birding Tours) and Jill Vance (Monroe Lake Interpretive Naturalist) for a special birding hike in Monroe Lake's Northfork fields. This area is closed to the general public during the winter, so this is a special access opportunity! David is one of our area's top birders and will help us search the fields, ponds, creek, riparian forest, and seasonal wetlands for birds, while Jill will share the history of how Northfork was developed as a wildlife area and waterfowl attractor. Please bring binoculars and dress for the weather! 1.5 to 2 hours
