Celebrate Arbor Day at Sanborn Park on Saturday, April 27th

For 44 consecutive years, the National Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Greeley with a Tree City USA designation. This designation demonstrates Greeley's commitment to its tree infrastructure and positions Greeley as an attractive and healthy place to live. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.

The event is free and open to the public from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Sanborn Park playground-located southwest of the 28th Ave Avenue and 20th Street intersection. During the celebration, city staff and attendees will plant new trees and discuss exciting changes to the Share the Shade tree planting program, which helps Greeley residents plant trees on their property.

"Trees are assets to a community when properly planted and maintained," said Forestry Manager Shiloh Hatcher. "They help improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants, and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits."
