“Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” Partners with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Offering Free Fitness Classes This Weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The "Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront" is offering wellness activities this Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in partnership with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. STaR (Service, teaching and research) Journey sessions engage the community in healthy living practices. Participants will receive promotional items and an opportunity to register for giveaways. In addition, participants are eligible for a card punch for every fitness class attended.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Departments offering the STaR Journey sessions are College of Education and Human Development, College of Nursing Sciences and Health Sciences, and Department of Kinesiology and Military Science.

The Fitness Lane route begins along the seawall at The Water's Edge, northbound, towards the American Bank Center with the turnaround just before the barge dock entrance. Walk, jog, run, or bike along the event's designated 1.50-mile fitness lane (one way). Our community partner, H-E-B, is providing fruit and water for all participants.

In coordination with Victor Betancourt of VFit Productions and the City's Parks & Recreation Department, the City will offer "Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront" exercise and wellness events for ages eight and older, of all abilities and skill levels, on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at The Water's Edge, 402 S. Shoreline Blvd.HIGH Fitness, Zumba and Yoga will be held at the Islanders Pavilion next to the playground. The class schedule is available online.
