These metallized polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) caps feature high temperature capacity and are available in case sizes from 1206 up to 6054. They are suitable for applications with voltage requirements up to 630V and where SMD is mandatory. The self-healing property of the PEN film provides an open failure mode with increased overall reliability and provide low DC bias and low dielectric absorption. The AVX CB Series is AEC automotive qualified and has no piezoelectric effect. The series is rated up to 125°C and capacitance ranges from 1nF up to 4.7μF.
