UniCredit supports Euronext in EUR 1.8 billion rights issue to partially finance acquisition of Borsa Italiana

Bank has raised over EUR 26 billion in equity on behalf of issuers across European exchanges since the start of last year.

In one of the most high profile European M&A-driven rights issues priced YTD, UniCredit, acting as Joint Active Bookrunner, supported Euronext in raising EUR 1.8 billion across three evenly split tranches to partially fund its acquisition of Borsa Italiana - the transaction creates the leading pan-European market infrastructure, supporting local economies by connecting them to global markets.

Thanks to UniCredit's coverage expertise, strong traction at the outset allowed final combined books to close at EUR 4.8 billion, with well-diversified geographical participation from investors and asset managers across Europe representing the bulk of allocations.

The deal represents the largest FIG rights issue in France in the last decade and marks a clear success for the company, reaching its targets in terms of size, tenor and pricing.
