The team will also oversee the development of a transmission and generation power system master plan with the AUDA NEPAD - the development agency of the African Union. Stantec's team of International Development specialists in Belgium will supervise all of the activities carried out within the project The team will focus specifically on the transmission of information and collaboration among project specialists, with the goal of maximizing the impact of the project.

'I have worked on similar projects in the past, so have seen firsthand what benefits can come from such a coordinated effort,' said Stantec's Alexandros Grivas, Energy Finance Expert on AfSEM. 'The development of the African Single Electricity Market will effectively address the continent's electricity supply challenges, provide a cost-efficient instrument for electricity access, and act as a conduit tool for exploring the full potential of Africa's renewable energy resources.'
