Menendez, Booker Announce Nearly $1B to Support NJ’s Army Corps Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-N.J.) today announced a total of $966 million in federal funding to support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects across the state. USACE will be able to use this robust funding to plan, design, build and complete projects such as beach nourishment, flood control, ecosystem restoration, maintenance and repair of existing navigation channels and inland water ways.The senators secured this robust funding in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that was passed in November and the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act that passed in September.

"This is critical funding that will support projects across New Jersey which will protect communities from the devastating impacts of climate change and flooding, improve our rivers and waterways, and replenish our beaches," said Sen. Menendez. "I'm proud to have worked with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to secure this funding and ensure our state has the resources to complete so many of these vital projects."

New Jersey will receive $282.2 million for Army Corps projects from the infrastructure bill and $683.8 million from the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
