NORMA Group and Frankfurt School honor graduates for outstanding theses with relevance to industry

Maintal, Germany, September 17, 2021 - NORMA Group has sponsored the Manufacturing Management Award of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management ('Frankfurt School'). Together with the university, NORMA Group honored four excellent theses by graduates of the 'Master in Management' program. The award-winning theses deal with the potential of diversification, digitalization, 3D printing and simulation for the manufacturing industry.

'As a market leader in a market environment characterized by change, we are particularly keen to support talented young people and help drive research into relevant industry trends,' said Jan Löffler, Executive Vice President HR & Integrity, at the award ceremony. 'In the Frankfurt School, we have a partner who combines high educational quality and practical research.'

The four award-winning graduates accepted the prize from Jan Löffler yesterday at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt/Main. First place went to Jonathan Hartel for his paper on the technological diversification of automotive suppliers. Second place went to Aurelia Auracher for a case study on Industry 4.0 in manufacturing companies. Third place was shared by two award winners: Mudasir Wazir for his work on dynamic data processing in 3D printing and Tram Nguyen Phuong Le for her simulation study on the influence of order prioritization on production performance.

Professor Dr. Nils Stieglitz, President of the Frankfurt School said: 'We sincerely thank NORMA Group for its long-standing commitment and this special recognition of our graduates. The Manufacturing Management Award spurs students to address pressing aspects of industrial production.'

NORMA Group has funded the Frankfurt School's Manufacturing Management Award since 2014 and also supports the endowed professorship for Operations and Technology Management. A Frankfurt School committee chaired by Professor Dr. Jochen Schlapp evaluated the theses in terms of the relevance of the topic for the manufacturing industry, the strength of the results for practical application and the concrete recommendations for action, as well as the scientific quality.
