Extreme NH-01 GOP Candidates Can’t Be Trusted To Protect Reproductive Health Care

Tomorrow, the House will vote on legislation that would take the long-overdue step of codifying the protections of Roe v. Wade and affirm nearly 50 years of Supreme Court precedent. Voters in NH-01 deserve to know if the GOP extremists running to represent them will stand with them and the majority of Americans who support access to safe, legal abortion.

From what we know thus far, the New Hampshire GOP primary field can't be trusted to protect reproductive rights. The GOP primary field is full of anti-choice zealots who have refused to speak out against Gov. Sununu's abortion ban and forced ultrasounds. Gail Huff Brown endorsed Texas' right to put bounties on anyone who helps a woman access an abortion. Last year, DC shadow lobbyist Matt Mowers even attacked his GOP primary opponent for supporting the right to an abortion in the first 8 weeks of pregnancy.

With the Supreme Court set to consider a full reversal of Roe v. Wade later this year, GOP laws in Texas and elsewhere act as blueprints for Republican legislatures across the country - including in New Hampshire - to intimidate physicians, ban abortions, and strip access to health care for women. Reproductive rights are now on the ballot - everywhere.

DCCC Spokesperson James Singer

"New Hampshire Republicans have shown they can't be trusted to protect reproductive rights for Granite Staters. If elected, these candidates will join radical Republicans trying to ban abortion for millions of women."
