Charges laid in homicide investigation – Punnichy RCMP Detachment area

On May 4, 2022 around 11:30 p.m., Punnichy RCMP and EMS responded to a report of an injured individual on George Gordon First Nation. An injured adult male was located outside a residence - he was pronounced deceased on scene. Upon further investigation, his death was determined to be suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes became engaged.

As a result of investigation, two teen males - who cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act - have been charged with one count each of second degree murder, section 235 of the Criminal Code, in relation to the death of 37-year-old Glenn Worme of George Gordon First Nation.

They appeared in Wynyard Provincial Court on May 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

Punnichy RCMP, Yorkton and Regina RCMP General Investigation Services, Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Regina RCMP Police Dog Services and the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service also assisted with this investigation.
