Ingeteam selected as the electrical system integrator for Jan de Nul´s heavy lift vessel “Les Alizés” built at China Merchants Heavy Industry haimen

Ingeteam signed a contract as the electrical system integrator for the new Heavy Lift Vessel named 'Les Alizés' owned by Jan De Nul Group. The vessel will be built at China Merchants Heavy Industry Haimen shipyard and scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2022.

Les Alizés will be in a super-size class of its own, capable of building the newest generation of offshore wind farms. She will be equipped with a main crane of 5,000 tons, a deck loading capacity of 61,000 tons and a deck space of 9,300 m². Thanks to her dimensions and impressive lifting and loading capacities, Les Alizés will be able to load out, transport and install multiple units of the largest and heaviest wind turbine foundations, several in one trip, to the offshore installation site, with direct benefits in planning, fuel consumption and emissions reduction. In addition, equipped with a high-performance DP2 system as a crane vessel for floating installation, she will be able to install heavier and larger foundations into deeper waters and in more challenging seabed conditions.

Les Alizés will be an Ultra-Low Emission vessel equipped with an exhaust gas filtering technology that complies with the EURO STAGE V guidelines for emissions on land and inland waterways, and will also have a Cleanship NDO7 label and a Green Passport EU label. The vessel will mainly be used for the construction of offshore wind farms, but with her impressive crane she is also extremely suitable for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms.

Ingeteam has been appointed as electrical system integrator providing the engineering, supply, commissioning and sea trials of the complete Electrical power System as well as the Alarm Monitoring and Control System for this outstanding vessel, comprising:

Generation: by 6 INDAR generators of 8640 kVA/ 11000 Vac, Ingeteam Power Management System (PMS).

Power distribution: including 11000 Vac main and auxiliary switchboards and distribution transformers.

Propulsion system comprised by:

· 4 main propulsion INDAR´s Motors of 3000 kW / 3150 Vac driven by DFE frequency converters Ingedrive MV100.

· 2 Bow Thruster INDAR Motor 2600 kW / 3150 Vac driven by bow thruster DFE frequency converter Ingedrive MV100.

· 2 Retractable Thruster INDAR Motors 3250 kW / 3150 Vac driven by retractable thruster DFE frequency converters Ingedrive MV100.

Energy Saving System with a total capacity of 1810 kWh comprised by:

· 2 x ESS/Crane transformers 5000kVA

· 2 x Multidrive frequency converters

· 2 x Battery System of 905 kWh

· Controlled by INGESHIP Energy Management System (EMS) will optimize the energy regenerated by its powerful crane including several functionalities as crane peak shaving, mitigating the load steps and swings of main consumers such as heeling system, deck equipment or spinning reserve.

Engineering, Workshop Testing, Commissioning and Sea Trials.
