Washington State reported 4.3% unemployment, the lowest since 1976 as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
Today, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) announced that Washington State achieved a record low unemployment rate. At 4.3%, Washington's unemployment under Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee, is the lowest ever recorded by the BLS since 1976.
Over the past seven years as governor, Inslee has developed several economic initiatives including a $16 billion transportation investmentslated to create 200,000 jobs and Career Connect Washington which seeks to connect100,000 Washington students with career-connect learning opportunities.
'This is another in a long line of economic accomplishments earned under Governor Inslee's administration'said DGA National Press Secretary, Jerusalem Demsas. 'The governor's work to encourage business diversity, expand opportunity across the state, and invest in Washington's workforce is yet again paying off for residents of the Evergreen State.'
