Hull FC claimed a 35-22 victory over London Broncos to put the icing on the cake of a hugely successful 'BIG Night Out' as Hull&Proud Week reached its climax last night!
The Black & Whites claimed two more competition points in front of a crowd of 11,401, with plenty of fun activities on offer for supporters to get involved with throughout the night.
The event started with a huge fan park before the match, which took place in West Park. With over 30 fun activities and stalls for supporters to engage in, whilst the sun was shining in the sky, it was the perfect preparation for all of the fun inside the stadium.
Wayne Godwin and the Rugby AM team were out on West Park to speak to fans, with a host of activities to get involved with, including inflatables and bouncy castles, live music, zorb balls, pony rides and much more!
Inside the ground, former player and club legend Paul Prendiville delivered the match ball and helped build a great atmosphere just before kick-off, which played its part in helping the Airlie Birds into a resounding 34-0 half-time lead.
There was plenty taking place at half-time, too. A large group of City of Hull Academy players were officially unveiled at the KCOM Stadium, as they will be representing the Hull FC Academy from the 2020 season.
That took place before one of the most chaotic mascot races of all-time! With 10 mascots taking part in the 200m obstacle course from one end of the field to the other, before returning again, supporters were provided with some classic half-time entertainment as Buck The Bronco pipped Rugby AM's Wayne Godwin to the post in a photo finish! Our very own Airlie Bird managed to cross the line in third place, too!
Hull FC did enough to seal a 35-22 victory to make the 'BIG Night Out' a huge success.
In the build up to the game, Hull FC members were able to buy two 'Kid For A Quid' tickets and one 'Friend For A Fiver' ticket to help build the crowd at the KCOM Stadium.
Hull&Proud Week will draw to a close this evening as the Black & Whites host their first-ever Party On The Pier at Minerva Pub on the Humber Promenade!
As confirmed earlier this week, Lloyd Dobbs of Hull's very own The Paddington's will kick things off, performing alongside Tom Stratton from Street Urchin at 7.00pm, before chats on stage with some of the famous names in attendance!
Hall of Fame members Paul Prendiville, Keith Boxall and Chris Davidson will all be at our Party On The Pier, alongside other famous Hull FC names including Karl Harrison, Lee Jackson, Brian Hancock, Keith Tindall and Jamie Thackray!
Hugely popular local cover band The Shine will then take to the stage at 8.15pm to play some classic hits and get the crowd dancing along to some hit tunes in a special hour-long set!
That's before the Hillbilly Troupe finish things off with some toe-tappers to send you away into the night dancing into Hull's Old Town!
A great way to spend your Friday evening celebrating all things Black & White, Minerva's popular Gin Van will be in attendance, selling Danny Washbrook's very own Testimonial Gin! There will also be an ice cream van, and the Patty Shack!
Hull FC supporters are invited to attend the final event of Hull&Proud Week at the Minerva Pub this evening, which gets underway at 6.30pm.
