Pablo Barrera Lopez leaves Yara to become CEO of Haugaland Kraft

Barrera has held several executive positions in Yara, including being a member of the Group Executive Board from 2018 with responsibility for Strategy, Communications and Procurement. For the past year, Barrera has been seconded by Yara to lead Imagine Food Collective as the Executive Director. In this role, he has worked with leading global companies and stakeholders to help drive systemic change of the food value chain.

Barrera thanks all of Yara for the opportunities and journey together.

"Working together with all my fantastic colleagues around the world to responsibly feed the world and protect the planet has been a true honor and a great privilege. The opportunity I have now gotten to become CEO of the power company headquartered in the city where I grew up and where my family lives was something I could not say no to and would not have been possible without my Yara journey. I thank our CEO Svein Tore and the whole Yara family for all the opportunities to learn, grow and have a positive impact for people, planet and prosperity," he says.

Yara's CEO Svein Tore Holsether gives his best wishes.

"Pablo has played an important role in developing Yara's sustainability strategy and how we collaborate with the food industry to reduce the carbon footprint in the entire value chain. At Yara, we nurture talent, and Pablo has impressed us from the very beginning. We are proud to be able to develop young leaders capable of taking the helm of an organization like Haugaland Kraft," says Svein Tore.

"Pablo is among the ones who made it to the Group Executive Board at a young age. I would like to thank him for his contributions to Yara, and at the same time congratulate Haugaland Kraft for their success in recruiting him home to western Norway."
