Serbia completes delivery of food to friendly countries of Africa

The Serbian government stated today that with the delivery of 40,000 tons of food products to the Central African Republic, last year's initiative of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian government on food aid to friendly countries and peoples of the African continent has been fully realised.

In the period from January to April this year, food products (pasta, salt, oil, sugar, etc.) in total quantities of more than 300,000 tons were delivered to the friendly states of Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Esvatini, the Union of the Comoros, Lesotho, Central African Republic and Lebanon.

The humanitarian character and importance of these donations from Serbia is especially emphasised by the rising food prices on the international market and the increased global risks of shortages.

Food aid, along with previously donated vaccine donations to friends in Angola, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Tunisia, Lebanon and Iran, reaffirms Serbia's essential commitment to developing comprehensive relations with Africa and the Middle East based on mutual respect and friendly cooperation.

With these donations, Serbia has once again affirmed itself as a state that pursues a policy of peace, international solidarity and principled respect for international law.
